After our ride today and all of my lovely flat tires, we all got back together and had a little serious time together.
We all discussed why we were here and what motivated us to do this ride. Everyone had inspirational stories even though some were more directly affected by cancer than others. There were some tears and some laughs. We all listened and respected the stories of our team members.
This summer is going to be a long one, but the group certainly seems to work. It will be great to get to know everyone on a closer level and make some friends that will last a lifetime.
Now that it's past midnight and I won't get to many more nights in an actual bed, its time to catch some Zzzz.
Good night

I hope you have a great trip! I'll think of my Mom and several friends when I read about your travels. All my best big guy!! Uncle Dan
ReplyDeleteTrav - I'll be thinking of Gram while you do this. It is amazing that you and the others have the strength to ride this far. I hope you have a great time.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Trav. I hope the trip is going well and you are done with the bad tires. Love, Sally
ReplyDeleteTravis, don't let the flats get you down. Just consider them an unexpected rest period and keep going. I'm a stranger to you, but a colleague through the internet of your dad's. Best wishes on an unfortgettable trip and keep plenty of butt-butter in supply. I've ridden 100 miles in a day and stack some 50 mile days together, but never the amount you're taking on. Hats off to you!
